Semi-Automatic Ultrasonic Testing Of The “Variante Spina Di Pomezia” Pipeline
Metalprove has got the contract for the execution of Non-Destructive Testing in the construction of the “Variante Spina di Pomezia” natural gas pipeline DN200 DP12 owned by SNAM Rete Gas.
Considering the route of the work that crosses the Pomezia city center, the Client has decided to adopt experimentally semi-automatic ultrasonic testing (Phased Array + TOFD) to replace radiography in weld testing; therefore, for the first time, the aforementioned technology will be applied to pipes of 8 inch diameter and 7 mm thickness.
Metalprove, thanks to its experience and abilities, has taken this important challenge with great enthusiasm.
